Membership Categories

Memberships are valid for the academic year, which runs from
September 1st through August 31st.

• Associate ($25-$174)

  A subscription to Progressions, the NYU Libraries newsletter

  Three visits to Bobst Library (This is a benefit of the NYU Alumni card, which is sent to all alumni who make a gift of $25 or more; for non-alumni, 3 guest passes can be provided upon request.)

• Friend ($175/$225)

  • Reading privileges at Bobst Library (with a minimum gift of $175 for NYU alumni and residents of Community Boards 2 and 3^*; $225 for all others)
  • On-site access, from 7AM to midnight, to the Library's rich resources, including its special collections and electronic databases
  • A subscription to Progressions, the NYU Libraries newsletter

• Sponsor ($250-$499)

  All the above benefits, plus

  • An invitation for two to the holiday reception with Dean Carol Mandel
    
  • 10% discount on a variety of books from the NYU Press

• Collector ($500)

  All the above benefits, plus

  • Recognition in the NYU Libraries’ annual gift roster
  • Invitations to exhibition openings, receptions and author readings
    
  • A second NYU Library READER card for a spouse or partner

DEAN'S CIRCLE

The Dean’s Circle honors donors who make leadership gifts. Dean’s Circle members are welcomed to many special events including those with NYU leadership, prominent authors and other distinguished speakers.

• Patron ($1,000)

  All the above benefits, plus

  • Set of note cards featuring images from the Fales cookery collections
  • Invitation for two to the annual Fales Lecture in English Literature, followed by a private dinner
  • Six guest admission passes to Bobst Library for friends and family

• Fellow ($2,500)

  All the above benefits, plus

  • Signed copy of a best-selling book from the NYU Press
  • Discounted tickets to performances at NYU's Skirball Center for Performing Arts
  • Five personalized bookplates, to be placed in newly-purchased books, to honor the donor, a special loved one, or a friend

• Benefactor ($5,000)

  All the above benefits, plus

  • Invitation to attend an annual reception and special program with NYU's President and Trustees
  • Advance invitations to NYU events, public lectures, and conferences
  • Consultation session with an NYU librarian

^*Community Boards 2 and 3 include residents between Canal Street and 14th Street, from the Hudson River to the East River.

Borrowing Privileges

For all categories of Friends who donate at or above the $175/$225 level, borrowing privileges are available for an additional fee of $600. Borrowing fees are not tax-deductible.

How to Join the Friends

You may join the Friends of Bobst in-person at the Library Privileges located on the first floor of the Library. Please see http://library.nyu.edu/about/access.html for hours. To request an application form, please call the Friends of Bobst office at 212.998.2446, e-mail sendMail('friends.of.bobst'); , or download the new Friends brochure, print and mail the application.
